Welcome to the longest day of the year!
As you woke, I hope you were greeted by sunshine, birds chirping and a soft, summery breeze.
And if you weren’t, I hope you had a couple extra moments to take some big belly breaths, focus your mind on your abundant plan for the day, and indulge in a hot coffee, just the way you like it.
Cyclical living has taught me how to adjust to unforeseen complications (which, in life, are inevitable). Yes, this solstice is a magical time to celebrate all summer has to offer, but if the weather isn’t cooperating then we can still create our own rituals and moments…
The solstice gives us an opportunity to connect with our bodies and celebrate nature’s seasons. In the Northern Hemisphere, the summer version reflects our own inner summer, or ovulatory phase.
They’re both midway points, expansive periods of time, abundant with possibility and opportunities for growth, new chapters, new life… In short, they both deserve to be celebrated!
On my train ride back from London, while I watched the sun setting over the English countryside, I did make myself a solstice playlist. I added songs that reminded me of summer, the playfulness and heat of the season, the witchy vibes of the day.
Click here to give it a listen!
Put it on while you cook, while you stroll outdoors, while you take time for yourself (even if that’s folding your laundry, it’s okay to make the chore a little more fun today!)
If you’re doing something to celebrate the summer solstice, let me know! I want to hear alllllll of your plans.
What are you eating? What are you listening to? Who are you gathering with? How are you celebrating your year so far?
