Learning from nature’s cycles
Tuning into the rhythm of nature’s seasons is one easy way everyone can live cyclically.
While our menstrual cycles may determine our inner landscape, how we receive and process information, and skew our perspective on the world, nature’s seasons affect the overall energy of the day.
Notice how ovulating in summer compares to ovulating in winter — does your energy vary depending on the depth of the snow or the time the sun sets? Maybe.
I for one know how cozy menstruating in the middle of winter can feel. There’s less pressure to be out and socialize, the blankets and sweaters and fireplaces add to the comfort levels, and who doesn’t love a long winter’s nap?
Hibernate like a bear
No matter where you are in your menstrual cycle or your life cycle, hibernating is natural and needed.
Just look to our Nordic neighbours and their cues: When the days are shorter, they expect their productivity to mirror. Removing the external (or internal) pressure to always be ON will give you more energy, focus and clarity come spring.
How you show up in menstruation can affect your entire cycle. How you show up in winter can affect your entire year.
