Why should I work with a menstrual cycle coach?

It’s a very common question, with good reason.

As a relatively new modality (though the knowledge is ancient), menstrual cycle awareness can feel superfluous. A nice to have, not a need to have.

But considering how much influence our monthly cycle of hormones has on our mental, physical, emotional and even spiritual health, ignoring the cues your body is literally shouting at you can be damaging.

Our fertility is a marker of our overall health, and the cycle our ovulation leads should be honoured as such. We’re rewriting the narrative and deleting the shame, embarrassment and secrecy. 

Our menstrual cycles are one of the most natural cycles in the world: they literally create all human life. You’re here because of a woman, because of an ovulation cycle.

So let’s treat it with some fucking respect, yeah?

A certified menstrual cycle coach can support you with…

✨ Understanding the language of your physical body, the nuance and cues from your monthly hormonal cycle. This point is key, especially since everyone’s bodies and circumstances are different. This isn’t knowledge you can copy and paste from an influencer.

✨ A transferrable set of self-care tools designed for each phase of your cycle, that you can shift and use as you notice the need arise.

For example, while rest is crucial during menstruation, the tools you craft with your cycle coach can then be used anytime during your cycle (like when you didn’t sleep well during your premenstrual phase!)

✨ Finding endless trust in your body and learning to live cyclically even without an active or regular cycle, whether pregnant, breastfeeding, perimenopausal or menopausal. There are cycles outside of us that will influence how we feel and change our cyclic experience (think life cycles, lunar cycles, societal and political cycles, etc.)

Customizable cycle coaching

Just as every menstrual cycle is unique, so is every cycle coaching experience.

Many of my fellow certified cycle coaches also carry certifications and passions in other areas of expertise. Depending on your needs and goals, you may need to work with someone different.

But at the core of this modality is the space most women and menstruators need to understand themselves more deeply. There’s grief, anger, frustration and joy in unpacking the secrets contained within your womb.
